We keep hearing the same thing (and we experienced the same thing ourselves) - that new law students just don’t know what to expect over a typical 5 year degree, and when to start thinking about legal jobs. Too often we hear “well, I didn’t know about clerkships until it was too late” or “I didn’t realise I needed some legal experience first in order to get a job”. In short, it is never too early to think about legal experience and jobs - but also you should give yourself some time to really nail your studies, because marks really do count. Follow this timeline as a general guide and you’ll have no surprises!
